We Are Thankful

M'Amy spent a couple of days in St. Charles to help take care of the boys while Jill had some surgery. She had an enlarged lymph gland removed from her cheek Tuesday morning.

All went well and M'Amy is home tonight taking care of Grampa Phil.

We are all thankful for healing procedures, safe travel, and family.

Meyer wore an outfit expressing his thanks.

Meyer is 3 months old and weighs 15 pounds!

More Halloween in St. Charles

Here are some more pictures from our visit in St. Charles. These are without Halloween costumes. Most of the outdoor pictures were taken at a nearby farm with pumpkins. The tree with sunlit yellow leaves is in their backyard. Beautiful...

We took care of Meyer (and Logan and Liam)
giving Jill and Jason a date night.
Meyer resisted the bottle for a while,
but we prevailed!

Halloween in St. Charles

With Halloween falling on a weekend this year, we traveled to St. Charles to enjoy the occasion with the our three Nachtrab grandsons! Logan was Robin Hood, Liam was a Knight, and Meyer was a monkey (some said a chunky monkey!).

Meyer's First Day - Getting to Know His Family

Well, maybe vice versa. Meyer may not remember this evening as well as we will. Jill and her doctor decided before noon she would go to the hospital at 4 pm. That gave Amy and I, Sue and Jerry, and Lisa (although she left later in the afternoon, she was still at the hospital in time for the delivery) time to drive across Missouri to witness the birth. Meyer is our fourth grandson and their fifth grandson! They do also have a granddaughter with another granddaughter on the way.

M'Amy took this picture just 9 minutes after Meyer was born!
As I am about to post this blog, I realize a few of the pictures are repeats of those posted in my previous blog (that was posted 10 days ago). So, if they seem familiar, I thank you for looking at my blog.
Now how about some comments, please?

Good Looking Family!
We think this is the correct data.
Well, maybe all except the YEAR!
Nobody noticed until we looked at this picture later.
The hospital made a new one the next day.

It's a .... BOY! Grandson #4

Meyer Lucas Nachtrab was born on August 10, 2009 at 8:21 pm weighing 7 pounds 6 ounces and measuring 20 inches long. Meyer shares his birthday with his paternal grandmother Sue. Jill was gracious enough to give us about an 8 hour warning, so both sets of grandparents and Aunt Lisa all made it across the state of Missouri and to the hospital before the birth.

For those who are counting, that's four grandsons for the Woodworth's and five grandsons for the Nachtrabs. The Nachtrabs also have a granddaughter (how did they manage that?).

4th of July 2009

I must apologize.
I am a month late in posting these 4th of July pictures and a year late in any updates at all.
I will try to do better. Look for grandchild #4 updates soon!

Lenexa, Kansas has a 4th of July parade every year. My three grandsons were there this year.

Something in the parade has their attention.

Where is the next group tossing candy?

The Lenexa and Shawnee fireworks show at Shawnee Mission Park did not happen this year. Something about the economy and budgets .....

Soooo, we caught the Corporate Woods fireworks show in Overland Park from a parking lot.

Used my tripod and clicked away.

Trial and error determined where best to point the camera to capture most explosions. Some are just as they were captured and others were cropped to drop unbalanced black space.

I think I took about 150 pictures, these are among the better ones.
